Celebrating Science at ITEC
Children from four primary schools were thrilled to demonstrate their Science Club projects at an expo at ITEC. The projects designed and made by the children demonstrate various scientific concepts, from sound waves and percussion, to refraction, to chemical reactions.
Science Clubs encourage children to develop critical scientific thinking, and most importantly, to see the enjoyment and fun in scientific exploration. Click through the pictures to see what the children got up to.
Mandela Day
ITEC staff teamed up with UNISA library staff for Mandela Day this year to help set up a small library for the children of Catch Projects, and read stories to the children who arrived in the afternoon.
Catch Projects does absolutely wonderful work in Mzamomhle, an informal settlement near Gonubie. Catch offers a range of recreational and educational clubs for the local children, as well as programmes for adults in the area.
We were really honoured to be able to help the children of Mzamomhle in memory of Madiba.

Fun at the ITEC Charity Golf Day
We had a great Golf Day as part of our 30th Anniversary celebrations. A sunny day, beautiful scenery, lots of fun and laughter, and super prizes! Many thanks to our participants and to our sponsors. All proceeds from the Golf Day will go to our child-friendly projects.
