The Institute of Training and Education for Capacity-building (ITEC) envisages a child-friendly South Africa where all children are able to access opportunities for optimal development.

We believe that children have the right to live in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment, and that they deserve the care and education that will equip them for tomorrow's world.

Ensuring food security in a community development project

ITEC provides support to several community development project, including the Needs Camp Community Project, funded by the Eastern Cape Office of the Premier, and the Community Work Project (CWP) in the Duncan Village/ Pefferville area, in partnership with the Department for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

The CWP is a national programme that provides a safety net for 1,500 unemployed community members, who carry out work identified as important within the community.

ITEC promotes family and child focused activities within the CWP, and within our other community driven initiatives.
