ITEC’S CHILD-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY WORK is partly funded by income generated by our ICT Courses. When you enrol on an ITEC course, not only do you develop your computer skills, but your fees contribute to the wellbeing of children and families.

What skills or experience do I need to enrol in the Introduction to Computers course?
You should have at least Grade 9 or the equivalent (Standard 7, or ABET Level 4), but you do not need any previous computer experience.
How long does it take to do the Introduction to Computers Course?
You can choose to do the course part time (in the evenings) or full time (during the day).
FULL TIME: 3 hours per day (Monday to Thursday) for 5 weeks. The following class times are available for full time students:
08h00 to 11h00 and 11h00 to 14h00
PART TIME: 2.5 hours per day (Monday to Thursday) for 6 weeks. Class times are:
17h00 to 19h30
You are welcome to practice at ITEC on Friday mornings.

INTERMEDIATE COURSE
This accredited course covers:
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- MS PowerPoint
- MS Access
- Internet and Email.

How long does it take to do the Intermediate Course?
2.5 hours per day (Monday to Thursday) for 10 weeks. You are welcome to practice at ITEC on Friday mornings.
Class times: choose from 08h00 to 11h00, 11h00 to 14h00 or 17h00 to 19h30
What skills or experience do I need to enrol in the Intermediate Course?
You should have basic computer skills. Our Introduction to Computers course will prepare you for the Intermediate Course.

INTERNATIONAL COMPUTER DRIVING LICENCE (ICDL)
ICDL is an internationally recognised qualification, consisting of 6 modules. Students must pass tests in the following modules:
- Computer Essentials
- Online Essentials
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Databases
- Presentations
We provide you with the following
- ICDL Manual
- Skills Log Book
- Costs for Testing (per module)
- Accredited ICDL Trainer
- Accredited Testing Centre and Examiners

How long does it take to complete the ICDL?
You will attend classes at ITEC for 2.5 hours a day for 10 weeks, from Monday to Thursday. You are welcome to practice at ITEC on Friday mornings.
What skills or experience do I need to enrol for the ICDL?
You should be at an intermediate level of competence to enrol. Our Intermediate Course will prepare you for the ICDL.
